The Ombrelle d’Onyx Wall Sconce creates a stained-glass effect on the wall with its parasol shade of onyx panels set between brass ribs.

Story

Ombrelle is the French word for parasol. This time, we brought the parasol form of our table lamp family to the wall. Onyx panels 8 mm thick sit between brass ribs, and each rib ends in a small brass finial. An oval brass backplate and a curved arm hold the parasol slightly forward from the wall. In classic bedrooms, cafés, and Parisian-style living rooms, Ombrelle becomes a piece of strong character.

Stone: Natural Onyx

Onyx is a translucent natural stone formed as calcium carbonate carried by spring waters settles, layer upon layer, over thousands of years. This structure allows light to pass through the stone. The veining and color gradation of each block belong to that piece alone. When the lamp is lit, this pattern is illuminated from within and comes into view. Ombrelle’s panels use an onyx with veins in gray, rust, and dark tones.

Light

The light comes from a single LED source in an E14 socket and illuminates each panel individually. When unlit, the shade, with its gray and rust-toned veins, looks like a stately dome. When lit, the panels turn to cream and honey tones. The veins stand out like the lines of a stained-glass window.

Care and installation

A soft, dry microfiber cloth is all it needs. Do not use liquid cleaners, solvents, or abrasives. Mount the sconce on a flat, solid wall surface. Have the electrical connection made by a qualified electrician. We recommend a warm white (2700 K) LED bulb. Cool white light distorts the stone’s color gradations.

CAREHow do I clean natural onyx?

Simply wipe it with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, solvents, or abrasives. If a mark appears, wipe it with a slightly damp cloth, then buff with a dry one.

To protect the natural texture of the onyx, keep the lamp out of direct sunlight.

CAREWhich bulb do you recommend?

RETURNSWhat are the return conditions?

We accept returns only when a product reaches you broken, cracked, or damaged in transit. Otherwise, no returns or exchanges are accepted.

Report the damage to studio@nyxora.lighting within 48 hours of delivery, with your order number and photographs of the damage; we will manage the return process. Natural variations in the veining, color, and tone of onyx are not considered defects.
