Natural stone
No synthetic marble or resin; we work only with natural onyx and marble. Every piece is unique.

I’m Meyra Acar, an interior architect and the founder of Nyxora. My approach to design is shaped by the nature of the material and the relationship it forms with a space. I founded Nyxora to turn the distinctive character of onyx into pared-back, sculptural lighting.
The veins of a stone, its color gradations, and the way it lets light pass through are, for me, the first lines of a design. I leave room for this natural structure, which differs in every piece, and think through form, proportion, and detail together with it.
When I design a light, I care as much about how it holds its place in a room when it is switched off as about the atmosphere it creates when it is lit. I’m moved by the way a piece whose texture stands out in daylight takes on another depth in the evening, with light glowing from within.
What I look for at Nyxora is a subtle balance between the strong character of the stone and the warmth of light. I want every piece I design to hold your gaze, to make you want to touch it as you come closer, and to feel as if it belongs where it is.

Nyxora is a sculptural lighting studio that reveals the veins of natural onyx through warm light. Each piece is shaped individually in our Izmir atelier.
Onyx is a memory millions of years in the making. Calcite crystals, deposited drop by drop by groundwater, rest within the stone like a frozen moment.
At the Nyxora studio, we use light to bring this frozen moment back to life. We do not design a lamp; we design a piece of nature.
Every piece is made in our atelier by a single artisan. That the veining never repeats is what we love most about our collection.
No synthetic marble or resin; we work only with natural onyx and marble. Every piece is unique.
No piece is mass-produced. Each lamp is shaped in the atelier by the hands of a single artisan.
The number of the block each lamp is cut from is recorded, so you know which stone your piece came from.
Each design is produced in limited numbers. Because the veining never repeats, there will never be a twin of the piece you own.
From block selection to final inspection, every step is completed in the same atelier, by the same hands. Tap a step to reveal the details.
Material pageBlocks are assessed from cross-section photographs before they reach the atelier, and on the light table once they arrive. A block that is not right for one model is set aside for another form; no stone is forced.
A horizontally banded river onyx reads horizontally in Strata and vertically in Golden Aura. The same stone takes on two different characters.
The stone is left thin enough to let light through and thick enough to withstand everyday use. Wall thickness is determined separately for each model, according to its light source.
The surface is left smooth enough to let light pass without scattering it; matte areas called for by the design are deliberately preserved.
Each piece is logged with its block number and switched on for a final inspection before it is packed.
Our collection includes table lamps, wall sconces, and floor lamps. Each is a numbered one-off made from natural onyx.
